“One of the hardest things in life is having words in our heart that are difficult to speak. Therapy is a great opportunity to bring voice to those words and make sense of theirmeaning and message so we can have a greater understanding of who we are and our place in this world.”

Areas of Focus:

Dr. Sarah Krcmarik brings a strong collaborative and relational approach to therapy built upon safety and trust. Recognizing that each individual possesses a unique life story, the therapeutic relationship moves at a pace that feels comfortable and progressive and is onein which, ultimately, clients make meaning of their lives by bringing voice to their inner emotional experience so that they can move forward with clear purpose and intentionality in their own daily life and within their relationships.

By exploring and integrating an individual’s past with current life experiences, Dr. Krcmarik strives to provide a renewed understanding and sense of hope and relatedness.

Dr. Krcmarik specializes in treating adolescents, adults, families, and couples, and is also able to perform neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments to address challenges in everyday living. She has particular experience and interest in working with depression, anxiety, identity development, survivors of childhood abuse, relationship difficulties, children of alcoholic parents, parent-child attachment, grief and bereavement,and family conflict. In addition, she is able to provide both therapy and assessment services in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Krcmarik received undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Spanish from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She went on to receive a Master and Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago,Illinois. In addition, she serves as an adjunct faculty member of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
