Dr. Krisanna Sharon believes in the art of therapy and the power of the therapeutic alliance. She views therapy as a journey in which two people walk alongside one another in an attempt to better understand who the individual is and how they fit into the world around them.
Areas of Focus:
As a client-centered existential phenomenologist, Dr. Sharon sees the relationship as the most significant agent of change. She works collaboratively with clients to offer a full hearing of their unique experiences in an attempt to understand their hopes, fears, regrets, and successes along with their past and present selves.
Dr. Sharon specializes in treating children, adolescents, adults and families. She is also able to perform neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessment to address challenges in everyday life and to obtain a better understanding of how one interacts with the world around them. Dr. Sharon has particular experience and interest in working with complex trauma, anxiety, identity development, sexuality development, relational difficulties, existential dilemmas, and survivors of childhood abuse. She also has a history of working within the forensics field, i.e. those who are incarcerated and/or family members of those who are incarcerated.
Dr. Sharon received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Business Management/ Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. She continued on to receive her Master and Doctoral Degrees in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois.
