She specializes in school advocacy and helping families and individuals understand how to navigate educational and occupational systems in order to obtain individualized support. Dr. Roman has a systems based approach to therapy and assessment. She believes that the focus should be on altering the system rather than changing the individual. Her approach emphasizes the interconnectedness of relationships, behavior patterns, and emotions and how this connection impacts the functioning of each individual. Dr. Roman also has experience providing family therapy to help families understand how having a neurodiverse family member can impact the family system
